Many of us look forward to celebrations during the holidays, this can often be a time when some are more likely to drink beyond their limits.
This holiday season, the Sublette Prevention Coalition offers some tips to help keep your celebration safe.
Try a variety of non-alcoholic drinks - water, juices, sparkling sodas or fun elixirs/mocktails like Curious Elixers or Seedlip.
Always follow moderate drinking guidelines: no more than one (1) serving of alcohol for women and no more than two (2) for men per day.*
Enjoy a variety of healthy food and snacks. Food can help slow the absorption of alcohol into the bloodstream by about one-third. This can also help minimize stomach irritation the next day.
Get home safely — use designated drivers. Anyone getting behind the wheel should not have consumed any alcohol.
If minors are around, set a good example, by not allowing them to consume alcohol and by keeping your drinking reasonable.
Have a healthy and happy Thanksgiving!
