FEBRUARY 2022 in PREVENTION

It's a good time to get involved in prevention work. From January to April this year we are writing the grant application which doubles as our 2022-2024 Sublette community prevention work plan. The work happens in the task force meetings. Want your voice heard in this process? Please contact Trisha or any of the Co-Chairs for more info. Monday 2/7/22 at 12PM: SUICIDE PREVENTION TASK FORCE Co-Chairs: Matthew Daniels and Aaron preece Meets in person at St. Andrew’s Church, lower level Online with Zoom (contact Trisha for the link) RSVP for lunch, please! The team will discuss the request to host an Applied Suicide Intervention Skills training (ASIST) in Sublette County. ASIST is a 2 day training - ASIST offers training credits to both school professionals and to law enforcement (PTSB for teachers and POST credits for LE); team will hear from local probation about criteria for use of the MH funds; brainstorm strategies for the '22-'24 work plan/grant application; and look at 2020 state and national suicide data. Tuesday 2/8/22, 12-1 PM: Rx & OTHER DRUGS TASK FORCE Co-Chairs: Sarah Murdock and Annie Adams Meets in person at Public Health Conference Room Online with Zoom (contact Trisha for the link) RSVP for lunch, please! Team will look at data and brainstorm strategies for the 2022 - 2024 grant. Team will assess 2021 4-H collaboration and look at youth programming options for summer 2022. Agenda here Wednesday 2/9/22 from 3-5PM: Cannabis Concerns from the Colorado Experience. Join neighboring county prevention specialists. lawmakers, and law enforcement on zoom to hear Dr. Libby Stuyt, MD, Addictions Psychiatrist, and Ben Cort, treatment provider and presenter, on lessons learned from Colorado's experience with legal cannabis.
