Benefits of Exercise for the Brain

Everything from our happiness to how well we age depends on our brain. Regular exercise, drinking enough water, and getting enough sleep are all free and no cost habits we can cultivate for optimal physical and mental health.

Benefits of Exercising:

• Better mood

• Increases alertness & focus

• Improves quality of sleep

• Decreases anxiety

• Increases interest in sex

• Better energy & stamina for day-to-day life & tasks

Walking, dancing, cycling, gardening, outdoor chores like raking leaves and splitting wood, sports, hunting and fishing when they involve walking and stalking — all exercise

delivers “feel good” hormones to our brains. We can decrease stress just by choosing to get up and move around.
