The Tobacco Prevention Toolkit is an educational resource that can be adapted to fit the individual needs of educators and students in all types of settings, including elementary, middle, and high schools; community-based organizations; and health-related agencies.
Educators are encouraged to pick and choose which lessons will be most useful for their students and adapt activities to suit their needs. You will find that the PowerPoints, worksheets, and activities can all be altered as desired.

A 10-page paper written for the Idaho school system by addiction psychiatrist, Dr. Libby Stuyt, M.D. in October 2020. This paper is written for high school students and their parents as a "Users Guide to Your Brain." This is a useful resource for conversations between students, teachers, and parents. The focus is on how substances, especially commercial marijuana, affect your developing brain. Dr. Stuyt presents regularly on cannabis and the adolescent brain around the United States.

The Drug Enforcement Administration and Discovery Education have worked together to create six additional lessons for the Operation Prevention student curriculum, expanding it beyond opioids to include inhalants, marijuana, stimulants, depressants, hallucinogens, and steroids. These additional lessons are geared for grades 3-8 (upper elementary and middle school) and are expected to take one class period for each lesson. There is an educator’s guide for the set of lessons, and each individual lesson includes a short animated video with an accompanying activity guide.
